Our firm is currently handling cases involving laundry detergent pods. As most of you are aware, these incidents involve the multicolored detergent packs or pods which are primarily manufactured by Tide and Gain. These packets or pods were introduced in 2012 and attract children with their colorful designs and strong fragrances. New data has shown that children continue to eat a dangerously large number of these packets. Recent data has shown that calls to poison control centers have increased by 17 % in the last couple of years and more than 22,000 children, mostly under age 3 ,have been exposed to laundry packets. Findings have demonstrated that these packets or pods are more toxic than other detergents such as powders and thus there are serious consequences when a child has ingested one. If your child has been injured by one of these products or if you know someone who has, please call our office for a free consultation in this matter.
